It has been brought to our attention that there are fake DIAA social media accounts. Unfortunately, our requests with the different platforms to remove those accounts have gone unresolved. Therefore, it is critically important that your community is well educated in this matter.
Official DIAA social media accounts are:
Instagram: Diaa_de
X – Twitter:@DIAA_Delaware
One fraudulent account in particular on Instagram, is @DIAAsports !!!!!. They are claiming to be streaming high school games in Delaware – credit card and other personal information shout NOT be shared on that account.
Be advised that the NFHS Network is the official streaming partner of the DIAA, and that fans should go directly to the NFHS Network to link to any games being covered. The NFHS Delaware page is:
https://www.nfhsnetwork.com/states/DE
Please share this information with your community as soon as possible!!!

Dear High School Baseball Coaches,
In 2010, Dr. Glenn Fleisig, Dr. James Andrews, and others at the American Sports Medicine Institute (ASMI) concluded a 10-year study on the increasing rate of pitching-related injuries in youth players. ASMI is now preparing to launch a follow-up study focused on high school pitchers along with USA Baseball, the NHSBCA, the Samford University Center for Sports Analytics, and PitchKount. This study aims to explore the relationship between the number of pitches thrown and the occurrence of injuries among high school baseball pitchers.
Before the official study can begin, our group plans to launch a pilot study from January 1, 2024, to August 30, 2024. The pilot study will be conducted through the PitchKount system. Participating pitchers would be asked to log the number of pitches thrown this pre-season and this upcoming spring and summer. We’d like to know of any pitching-related injuries that occur. The data collected would be collected by the Samford team and studied by ASMI.
It is important to note that the data collected would be confidential and de-identified. The data would not be shared with coaches, recruiters, or scouts.
By participating in this study, your players would be making a valuable contribution to the sport of baseball. This study has the potential to further our understanding of pitching-related injuries and how to prevent them in the future. Please consider passing this information on to your players and helping us with this endeavor. Please send me their contact information if you have any players interested in this study. I will add them to our mailing list so they can receive further instructions regarding the study. Recruitment for this study will run through December 31, 2023.
If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me or the Samford University Center for Sports Analytics at mmazzei@samford.edu. We would be happy to assist you in any way we can.
Happy Holidays,
Tim Saunders/ASMI Board Member
National High School Baseball Coaches Association Executive Director
